Lopez Island, Orcas Island, and San Juan Island each have adequate health care facilities for all age groups ranging from pediatric care to geriatric care. Each island also has their own hospice. For major medical emergencies Airlift Northwest will fly you off island to the nearest and best hospital. This service is $79 pre-year and covers the whole family. On San Juan Island Friday Harbor is home to the Interisland Medical Center which offers primary care, preventative care, physical exams newborn care family planning, immunizations, cardiology, radiology, and other procedures such as mammograms, bone density tests, ultrasounds, and stress testing.
At 689 Airport Center is San Juan Healthcare, with three MDs each with their own specialty they provide pediatric and teen care, adult care, internal medicine, women's health, geriatric care, skin care, and can treat other minor injuries.
On Lopez Island there is the Lopez Island Medical Clinic in the heart of Lopez Village. Lopez pharmacy is also right in the village and the dentist office is just outside of town on Fisherman Bay Road.
The Orcas Island Family Health Center, where a doctor is on call 24 hours a day seven days a week, is located in Eastsound Village at the Airport Center. They can handle emergency services such as lacerations, fractures, splints and cast application, and sudden illnesses. Preventative medicine, adult medicine, laboratory services, gynecology, cardiology, mental health, and pediatric medicine is available here.
The islands are also home to many alternative healthcare services. Holistic medicine, spiritual medicine, acupuncture, massage and reflexology, and even clairvoyant services are available.
